Latent Space – cover

Today I’m sharing my first, simple track made on the #EP133. I never expected that I would ever compose something myself, but here it is :-)

Latent Space
Composed on Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

On one hand, there is rigor: a looped, steady 4/4 rhythm, a dry kick and pinpoint snare acting like a clock ticking through sequential matrix operations. On the other — sparse, high-register tones with harp-like timbre, diffused in a long reverb. They behave like isolated synaptic impulses firing through the layers of a neural network.

In machine learning, high-dimensional latent space is overwhelmingly empty. In psychoacoustics, the same sensation is evoked through extreme contrast: colliding dry, close-mic percussion with vast, echoing highs. A brief attempt at translating mathematical mechanics into a minimalist, lo-fi groove.
